What is the Tribulus Terrestris Extract:

Tribulus Terrestris( Tribulus terrestris L.) originated in the two most ancient medicines in the world: Ayurvedic medicine ( India )  and traditional  Chinese medicine. The  plant has  been used  for more  than 3,000 years. Its different  effects on the  body are  well -know, and it  enjoys a good  reputation. Traditionally , it  was used to combat diseases of the liver and kidneys, as well as urinary diseases. Today, however ,the usage of Tribulus has evolved ( especially in Europe, the United States  and Canada), and it has come to be most  broadly used as an aphrodisiac to stimulate the libido. The plant ( especially its fruit is also commonly used for its anabolic effect by bodybuilders because it promotes the building of muscle mass. Tribulus is considered by herbalists to be an excellent adaptogen (it adapts to the body’s different needs ) .

Tribulus Terrestris Extract Composition:

Tribulus Terretris is composed of a large number of active element including steroidal saponins, such as dioscin
diosgenin and protodioscin.The elements are behind the plant’s well-know beneficial effeects on the libido,on
fitness and on the building of muscle mass(natural anaboic).Tribulus also contains phytosterols:especially the
beta-sitosterols that act on the different problems associated with the prostate,urinary and cardiovascular
systems.

Tribulus Terrestris Extract Study & Effective :

1)Sexual behavior and enhancement
Animal studies have found TT to be helpful as a sex booster.Sexual behavior and intracavernous pressure(ICP)
were studied in both normal and castrated rats to further understand the role of tribulus as an aphrodisiac.ICP
refers to blood flow into the corpus cavernosa of the penis.Adult rats were divided into groups of 8 each that
included distilled water treated(normal and castrated),testosterone treated(normal and castrated)and
tribulus treated(castrated).Compared to the castrated control, treatment of castrated rats(with either
testosterone or tribulus extract)showed increase in prostate weight and ICP.There was also an improvement in
sexual behavior as evidenced by an increase in mounting frequency.Aphrodisiac properties of Tribulus
Terrestris extract Protodioscin in normal and castrated rats.Life Science.2002.

J Pharmacol Pharmacother.2012.Evaluation of the aphrodisiac activity of Tribulus terrestris in sexually sluggish
male albino rats. To study the effect of acute and repeated dose administration of lyophilized aqueous extract
of the dried fruits of Tribulus terrestris on sexual function in sexually sluggish male albino rats. In order to
assess the effect of chronic T.terrestris exposure on the hypothalamus–pituitary–gonadal axis, testosterone
level estimation and sperm count were carried out.Twenty-eight-day oral toxicity studies were carried out to
evaluate the long-term effects of the TT administration on different body systems.A dose-dependent improve
-ment in sexual behavior was observed with treatment as characterized by an increase in mount frequency
intromission frequency, and penile erection index,as well as a decrease in mount latency, intromission latency
and ejaculatory latency.Chronic administration produced a significant increase in serum testosterone levels
with no significant effect on the sperm count.No overt body system dysfunctions were observed in 28-day oral
toxicity study.Findings of the present study validate the traditional use of T.terrestris as a sexual enhancer in
the management of sexual dysfunction in males.

2)Testosterone effect
J Ethnopharmacol.2015 Dec 26.Pro-sexual and Androgen Enhancing Effects of Tribulus terrestris:Fact or Fiction
Historically, aphrodisiacs have had a reputation for making sex more achievable and satisfying. It has been long
believed that Tribulus terrestris possesses aphrodisiac properties purportedly attributed to its ability to
influence levels or mimic function of sex hormones. However, reliable scientific evidence supporting these
purported bioactivities are scant and far from conclusive.Analysis of phytochemical&pharmacological studies
in humans and animals revealed an important role for TT in treating erectile dysfunction and sexual desire
problems;however, empirical evidence to support hypothesis that this desirable effects are due to androgen
enhancing properties of TT is,at best, inconclusive, and analysis of empirical evidence from a comprehensive
review of available literature proved this hypothesis wrong. While the mechanisms underlying TT aphrodisiac
activity remain largely unknown, there is emerging compelling evidence from experimental studies in animal
for possible endothelium and nitric oxide-dependent mechanisms underlying TT aphrodisiac and pro-erectile
activities.

3)Blood pressure effect
Anti-hypertensive and vasodilator effects of methanolic and aqueous extracts of Tribulus terrestris in rats.J
Ethnopharmacol.2006.Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry,Faculty of Pharmacy,Kuwait University,Safat,
Kuwait. It was concluded that extracts of Tribulus terrestris possess significant anti-hypertensive activity in
spontaneously hypertensive rats. The antihypertensive effects appeared to result from direct arterial smooth
muscle relaxation possibly involving nitric oxide release and membrane hyperpolarization.

4)Cholesterol and lipids
Effect of saponin from Tribulus terrestris on hyperlipidemia ZhongYaoCai.2003.The preventive and therapeutic
effects of saponin on diet-induced hyperlipidemia in mice have been studied.It showed that in preventive
experiment the tribulus terrestris saponin could significantly lower the levels of serum total cholesterol and
triglyceride.

5)Energy and fatigue fighter
Tribulus has some energy boosting abilities,as do ginseng, cordyceps, maca, and tongkat ali.MultiVit Rx multi
-vitamin formula is a great option for energy enhancement.As with most herbs,I recommend taking breaks
from use.

6)Elevates testosterone levels and enhances libido
“The main claim made by body building products containing the herb is that it can elevate testosterone levels”
says White. Why would you want to do that? The hormone is essential for maintaining muscle tone, stamina and
strength.But the best way to enhance testosterone is to exercise,White explains.Blood levels of testosterone
increase with just 20 minutes of exercise and remain elevated for up to three hours after.

In 2005,Bulgarian researchers organized 21 healthy men(ages 20 to36)and split them into an experimental and
a control group. The first group was given 20 mg per kg of body weight of tribulus terrestris extract and the
second group was given just10mg per kg.After four weeks,there was no significant difference between the 2
groups, the levels were considered normal&tribulus terrestris was declared to have no testosterone-increasing
properties.

“Some studies in women, however, esulted in a normalization of ovulation, improved fertility and a reduction
in peri-and postmenopausal symptoms,”White adds.”Most importantly,tribulus terrestris was found to
provide better results in women in regards to increasing libido than traditional hormone therapy.”

7)Increases strength and lean muscle mass

Tribulus terrestris is often marketed with the claim that it will produce large gains in strength&lean muscle
mass in just five to28days.Australian researchers investigated that claim and studied22male elite rugby league
players—some were given tribulus terrestris and others were given placebos.After5 weeks of training,strength
and fat free mass increased significantly in both groups—with no differences between them. The experts
concluded the herb does not produce large gains in strength or lean muscle mass.More Scientific research and                                                              development , please check here
